Lesego Legobane didn’t let it faze her when a stunning shot of her on the beach was turned into a body-shaming meme. In fact, the 24-year-old plus-size model, body-positive activist and blogger, who goes by @ThickLeeyonce on social media, turned the joke around on the shamer. And the internet loves her for it.

A Twitter user named Leyton Mokgerepi posted an image of Legobane next to Joëlle Kayembe (another well-known local model) along with the caption “girls I like vs. girls that like me.” Lesego’s flawless response? “I don’t like you.” Succinct… and beyond deadly. Basically she told him to ‘stay in his lane’.
Her response has received nearly a million ‘Likes’, with celebs like Ariana Grande, Avu DuVernay, and Nicki Minaj ‘hearting’ the tweet. Other Twitter users have responded with nothing but love for Lesego.

Leyton tried to backtrack by posting another image of Lesego with the caption “girlfriend goals,” but no one was having it. “Quite frankly I didn’t mean to denigrate Lesego or body-shame big girls,” he told HuffPost UK. “I’m not about that life, I’m a good guy I didn’t mean to make her feel bad about herself. I want better for myself I want better for anyone.” Clearly, this guy has some work to do.
Joëlle Kayembe, the woman who Lesego was compared to in the first tweet, also weighed in. She tweeted that the body-shamer was an “obnoxious ass” and told BuzzFeed News: “It was not a well thought out compliment, if that is what he was trying achieve. And to use one woman’s picture (mine in this case) to body-shame another is just rude and unnecessary!”

Women face criticisms about their bodies all the time, but it seems like the clapbacks get better and better each day. Recently Hollywood stars like actress Ariel Winter have hit back at body critics. “I’m not a whore because I wear shorts and tank tops,” she wrote in response. “I’m a normal girl. Also, I’m not ‘squeezing’ into anything. My shorts fit me and everything I’m doing is just fine.”
