And I was right. The shoe feels weightless; the upper mesh is soft and flexible, but your foot still feels completely secure. Tip: I might size up next time, as they do feel slightly narrower in the toe box than my Gel-Nimbus.

The introduction of the FF BLAST™ MAX foam gives you a cushioned feel without being “over-bouncy.” There’s a beautiful balance here between cushioning and stability. It’s like the perfect technical blend of the Gel-Nimbus and the Gel-Kayano – taking the best features of both to create my new favourite ride.

If you are looking for a new daily trainer, the ASICS Gel-Cumulus 28 is the shoe for you.

The Science Of The Bounce

ASICS has introduced FF BLAST™ MAX foam, one of their most energetic cushioning technologies to date. Their goal? To create landings that feel like you’re stepping on a cloud, paired with a toe-off that actually gives back what you put in. It’s snappy, lightweight and specifically engineered to keep your legs feeling fresh when the mileage starts to climb.

Effortless Flow From Heel To Toe

Transition is everything in a daily trainer. Thanks to the strategically placed FLUIDRIDE™ outsole, your foot moves through its natural gait cycle with newfound fluidity. To ensure these beauties actually last the distance, the brand has utilised AHAR™ LO material in the heel. It’s a high-durability compound positioned exactly where most runners experience the most wear, giving you better traction and a longer lifespan for your gear.
