September cover star Amanda du-Pont gives us serious abs envy (ok, full body envy, but those abs though!) and it’s no surprise, considering she trains with fitness star and all-round machine Mapule Ndhlovu. Her number one secret to keeping her body in such amazing shape? Making her workouts varied and fun – which happens to be Mapule’s specialty. “Sometimes we make up combinations together because you don’t want to do the same thing all the time,” Amanda says of her training sessions with Mapule.
Mapule likes to train with her clients. “I don’t like just standing there, telling them what to do and when they see me training, they say ‘Maps, if you can do it, I can too,'” she told us. You just need to check out her Instagram feed to see that her own workouts are totally creative and she brings that into her clients’ sessions as well. Aside from her trademark burpees, they never really know what they’re going to get.
This fun combo for tones, flat abs is a classic example of the kind of workout Mapule and Amanda come up with together. Watch the video, then try it with your gym buddy – do five reps of each move and repeat the whole sequence four times, matching gym outfits optional!
