We’ve entered a new year (and decade), and everyone is on a “new year, new me” vibe. And what better way to ring in the new than with a new updated look? Beauty has changed so much in the last decade, from the emergence of beauty YouTubers, Instagram eyebrows and Kim Kardashian contouring and Kylie Jenner lips — the beauty industry has taken us through it all.
So, what does the year 2020 bring us? Well, it looks like this year we’re finally saying bye-bye to the nude pallets and contour and we’re embracing glowy skin, bright liner and bringing back some classics like red lipstick.

Glitter and jewels everywhere
In 2019 we saw the emergence of jewel-encrusted eyeliner and glitter-covered eyelids, all thanks to the hit-show, Euphoria. But you don’t have to cover your face in jewels and glitter, just adding a touch of glitter in the centre of your eyelid or on the bottom lash line. You could also opt for a glitter eyeliner like the Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner from Urban Decay.
Graphic eyeliner
Cat eyeliner was pretty much the look of 2014-2019 but for 2020 we’re having a bit more fun with liner. Whether in interesting shapes or neon colours — anything goes in 2020.

Soft glam
A look for the early 2000s, the soft glam was essential to basically all RnB music videos. Unlike the heavy contour and highlighter looks of the 2010s, the soft glam is all about a soft, radiant glow that looks like it comes from within. Think more golden and peachy tones instead of dark and smokey.
Heavy lower liner
A very early 2000s trend, the heavy lower liner is back in 2020. This trend goes hand-in-hand with multi-level liner — pairing upper lid liner and lower lid liner —often in different colours.
