Khloé Kardashian is now a mom: According to Us Weekly, the reality TV star gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, early on Thursday morning.
The family has yet to confirm the birth or any details about it. We will update this piece with more details as they become available.
As is the case in any Kardashian undertaking, Khloé’s pregnancy was not without its drama. Just this week, multiple tabloids reported that Khloé’s boyfriend, NBA player Tristan Thompson, had allegedly been caught kissing and going home with a woman that wasn’t Khloé.
Us Weekly published the first report of her rumoured pregnancy in September, citing unnamed sources who speculated the Good American jeans designer would be having a boy. The rumours flew for weeks, with the Kardashian clan staying mum (big sister Kim literally drank a sardine smoothie so she wouldn’t have to confirm the pregnancy to James Corden).
Khloé herself didn’t confirm the news until late December. “My greatest dream realised!” she wrote in a celebratory Instagram post, featuring a shot of her and (presumably) Tristan’s hands cradling her baby bump. “We are having a baby!”

Since then, the internet’s armchair critics have been quick to jump on Khloé’s every move. They came for her when she posted videos of her workout routine to social media; they’ve bemoaned the frequency with which she touches her baby bump; most recently, her fans took her to task for flying to Japan while eight months pregnant, a final trip with her sisters — Kim and Kourtney — before the new baby madness begins.
Given the high volume of unsolicited feedback celebrities receive during pregnancy, it’s understandable that Khloé kept the first months of hers private, but she had more emotional reasons, too. In a February episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, she shared that she had low progesterone levels in the early months of her pregnancy. Her doctor was worried that this elevated her risk of miscarriage, so Khloé says she waited to make the news public until she hit her second trimester.

Khloé and Tristan — who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers — got together in August 2016, or at least, that’s when the celebrity couple rumour mill started turning. The pair were spotted leaving a Los Angeles nightclub together, and one month later, were holidaying together in Mexico.
Khloé isn’t the only Kardashian to welcome a baby in 2018: Kim and her husband, Kanye West, dispatched a Twitter announcement for the birth (via a surrogate) of their third child — a girl named Chicago — in January. And in early February, Kylie Jenner announced the birth of her first child, Stormi, in the same breath as she confirmed long-held rumours of her pregnancy.
