Ahead of the Vitality Netball World Cup (to be held in South Africa), Netball SA and PUMA have unveiled the special Netball World Cup kit the Spar Proteas will be playing in.
The kit, which contains PUMA’s Drycell technology, pays homage to the colourful South African culture. “We launched the Home and Away kits on International Women’s Day to honour women across the world and to celebrate the Women’s World Cup coming to South Africa,” said PUMA South Africa Marketing Director Brett Bellinger.
“The kit features the latest technical fabric used by PUMA performance teams, and the design is inspired by African art, and our country’s symbols.”
Along with the official kit, PUMA and Netball SA have released a line of fan gear. This includes bucket hats, t-shirts, workout tights, dresses and even the iconic South African veldskoen, developed with PUMA flair.

Show Your Support | #SPARProteas
“This is the opportunity for girls and everyone else in the country, to show why we’re called the rainbow nation. One thing that unites this country, I’ve seen and witnessed it, is sport. Sport is a tool that unites this country,” says Cecilia Molokwane, Netball South Africa President.
For Brett, this is an opportunity for South Africans to come out and support not only the netball team, but women’s sport in general. “It’s important for us to develop this legion of fans that are supporting the team but we obviously want to inspire netballers in the country to wear Puma playing in their schools and, you know, wearing it on a daily basis as well,” says Brett.
“This is the time to come out and support the Spar Proteas and support Netball South Africa, the host of the Vitality Netball World Cup 2023,” says Cecilia. “We are not apologetic about that, we are a women-led federation. We want to showcase this is the time for women.”
